Tiramisu

This delicious "dolce" will give you the exact ingredients and procedure to leave you satisfied. It is simple and easy to make. If you add little tender, love, and care while making, it will surely give you the opportunity to impress all of your guest. Along with all of the fine recipes in this great "Italian Cuisine" the tiramisu will allow for a delightful finish.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Pan di Spagna (baked and cooled)

Espresso Syrup Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup very strong brewed espresso
  • 1/4 cup Italian brandy

Filling Ingredients:

  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup sweet Marsala
  • 1/2 pound Mascarpone; room temperature
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Finishing Ingredients:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • Cinnamon coffee grounds

Procedure:

   FOR THE SYRUP
  1. Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil
  2. Cool and stir in the coffee and brandy
 
   FOR THE FILLING
  1. Whisk the yolks in the bowl of an electric mixer and whisk in the sugar and Marsala
  2. Whisk over a pan of simmering water until thickened
  3. Remove and beat by machine until cold
  4. Smash the Mascarpone smooth in a bowl with a rubber spatula
  5. Fold in the filling
  6. Whip the cream and fold it in
  7. Cut the Pan di Spagna into thin, vertical slices
  8. Place a layer of the slices in the bottom of a gratin dish and soak with the syrup, using a brush
  9. Spread with half the filling
  10. Repeat with the Pan di Spagna, syrup and filling
  11. Place a last layer of Pan di Spagna on the top and soak with the remaining syrup
  12. Whip the cream with the sugar and spread it on the surface of the dessert.
 
FINISHING TOUCHES
  1. Decorate with the cinnamon and coffee grounds
  2. Refrigerate several hours before serving.
